They don't have so many intensive physical needs...the "work" gets to be more mental and emotional, I think. I'd be interested in what the other slightly ( smiling ) older moms would say. I definitely look back and wish I had cherished those days even more than I did. You've got to read "Let Me Hold You Longer" by Karen Kingsbury. She says it so well.

BTW, I love the candle. Have never seen a birthday one, but I grew up with a countdown candle for every new year. I always look for one in the holiday "stuff", but have never found one.

Thanks for doing such a great blog!

SusanSusan Holt Simpsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05749938089225810268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1305562313912485053.post-77115785924640122472009-01-07T16:03:00.000-06:002009-01-07T16:03:00.000-06:00I had a birthday countdown candle when I was young...I had a birthday countdown candle when I was young! He asked if I knew how old he was going to be on his birthday (being silly). I said, "Yes, and I don't want to talk about" as I giggled and turned to walk out of his room. I, too, relate to your sadness.
