A Mama's Musings

I guess I've gotten used to raising boys. Everything seems so straight forward with them...

"Did you just hit your brother?"

"Yes."

"That was unkind. What do you say?"

"Sorry."

They hug. They run outside to play. I finish sweeping the kitchen.

O.k. I can do this. That wasn't so bad.

Then I had girls (two at once, in fact!) I'm so very thankful for them. Please don't think that I'm complaining, but I'm definitely treading new waters here. You would think that I would "get them," because I am, after all, of the same gender. Sometimes we have moments like this...

and this...

But, oh, how I love it when we have moments like this:

Girls... oh boy... I have two, ages 11 & 8. And two step-daughters, ages 7 & 10. Boys are trouble...lol. (We have 2 of those too, ages 7 & 9.) But they are simpler to understand. They tear up stuff, they're destructive, but they aren't so emotionally crazy like girls are :) Good luck!

being a girl i don't get my girls either. oh the emotions, and the drama, but oh what sweet love they have for each other too.

Oh mercy! I hear you..... I can't even figure myself out, let alone my 3 girls! :) It's going to be an adventure, that's for sure!

I so understand!! My boys are just like that...but then there are the girls (although the baby isn't old enough to drum up much drama, yet!). I often don't get the drama that comes along with having girls. But, I wouldn't trade it for anything! :)
