Not Again!

As if the "2002 Relaunch of Strawberry Shortcake" wasn't enough to break the hearts of her many fans, she's being altered once more!

Don't get me wrong, she's kinda cute. My 6 year old son just informed me that her new look is "her cutest look!" And, after all, these dolls are made for kids--not for 34 year old nostalgic mommies.

If you're a fan of Strawberry Shortcake, you can click here to find out more about these "relaunches."

So, which do you prefer? The 1980, the 2002 or the new 2009 version?

Our kids are missing out on being kids!

I love the 80's but the '02 are still cute. Personally I think '09look too mature.

I think these more mature looking toys tend to make our kids more aware of maturity:-(

Yuck! I do not like the new one at all. I love Strawberry Shortcake when I was a lil' girl!! 1980's Shortcake is the BEST... 2002 is okay and cute. I just don't like the new one at all :O(

The 80s Strawberry Shortcake, hands down! She looks like a child in the 80s one...now she just looks like a preteen beauty queen :(

I love the first and have grown to love the second one (lol), but I must say the newest is way too mature. Can't deny her cutest though.

2009 is cute, but I would choose the 80's version. She's a little girl and I love the pink and red. Somehow the red has turned into hot pink. Not the same.

The '80s is my favorite, I still have most of my stuff. I just started liking the tomboy look of the '02. I don't like the new one, not original, looks the same as everything else out there. Doesn't let a girl just be a girl, she has to be beautiful, makeup, hair and all.

Several of you commented on how "grown up" Miss Shortcake looks these days...how true! She IS looking quite pre-teenish, isn't she?

By far the 1980 version - it brings back SO MANY memories. I think I can still remember their "smells". ahhh! Blueberry Muffin, Orange Marmalade, Lemon Chiffon...
You can tell I'm out of the loop- Do the new ones still have that feature to them?
Thanks for the memory!!

I love the 80's version and the '02 version is still pretty cute... I guess the new version is pretty cute compared to the other "dolls" that are out there but I like the older ones better.

I like the 2002 version because she still looked like a little girl. The new one...no way...looks too old. I hate that!

The original is still the best. They shouldn't have messed with Coca-Cola and they should leave our little Strawberry alone :)

I adore the 1980's one because of course I grew up with her! I actually had to go out and buy a blueberry muffin doll when I was pregnant because I HAD to smell her -- it was a strange craving to smell! I think the 2002 one is adorable and still young and fun. The new one looks like a teenager, I don't care for it as much.
This is a cute post! I Love Strawberry Shortcake! :)

i still have my strawberry shortcake doll that smelled like strawberries and would blow out a puff of air when you'd squeeze her tummy. i still need to find a plate to replace the one i broke that goes with the bowl and mug. that being said, i prefer the original! :)

oh, it is disappointing. obviously i like the 80's version.

before i had daughter's i had collected vintage strawberry shortcake comforters intending to recreate my childhood bedroom for my girls, but when s.s. made a comeback i tucked it all away.
ahh, well this new s.s. will make all my s.s. findings look very vintage.

As all of the other shared....I love the 80's....she just so pure and precious. Again the 2002 is okay, but the new one is just plain YUCK! She looks like a tamed down bratz doll(which I loathe btw). I still have a handmade pillow that a little friend gave me when I turned..hmmmm...5 or 6 with Strawberry on it. Love it~
